The iGarden Swim Jet X is one of the closest things I’ve found to recreating open water effort without having to go to the ocean. It’s also been a game changer on days when it’s hard to find a training pool!

I tried it for underwater kicks, freestyle and butterfly to add resistance and mix up the training. It's an interesting way to create a current in the water and train continuously without needing a huge pool.

The Swim Jet X brings convenience and portability to my home swim program. Adjustable heights and multiple speeds simulate open water conditions perfectly.

The X Series offers the same professional-grade current as built-in systems but for a fraction of the cost and with zero construction required.

iGarden has transformed a simple water motor into a sophisticated, adaptive training partner that learns and responds to the swimmer in real-time.

It's more than just a way to create a current — it's a smart, adaptive system that responds to how you swim.

The unit clamps onto the side of the pool and doesn't require modifications. Once you are done, the X Series removes easily, leaving the pool just as it was.

The new iGarden Swim Jet X Series is the world's first AI-powered portable swim jet line that can help make your pool more flexible.

The iGarden X Series isn't just a motor; it's a smart fitness companion.

FAQ

Features & Specs

Everything you need to know to get up and running.

The iGarden Swim Jet X Series is a battery-powered, AI inverter portable countercurrent swim system. It turns your existing home pool into an in-place swim lane and solves the limitation of small pools with no room for lap swimming.
The clamp-on design requires no construction, drilling or pre-wiring. It can be set up in minutes, works with both in-ground and framed above-ground pools, and is easy to remove for storage. It is a flexible, budget-friendly alternative to expensive built-in countercurrent systems.
The series includes multiple models with adjustable flow for family water play, fitness, triathlon and high-intensity pro training. It supports control via onboard buttons and the iGarden App. X35-P60 adds PE Turbo and PF AI modes to simulate open-water flow for specialized swim training.

Each Swim Jet X model comes with distinct factory performance figures. These key metrics include rated output power, max outlet water speed and max outlet water flow. The X35‑P60 delivers the strongest performance, while other models offer scaled‑down output for casual swimming and pool fun. Please refer to the official specs below for every variant.

Key Highlights

  • X35‑P60:Rated Output Power 1000 W;Max Outlet Water Speed 11.5 ft/s (3.5 m/s);Max Outlet Water Flow 1100 GPM
  • X30‑P30:Rated Output Power 700 W;Max Outlet Water Speed 9.8 ft/s (3.0 m/s);Max Outlet Water Flow 880 GPM
  • X25‑P15:Rated Output Power 400 W;Max Outlet Water Speed 8.2 ft/s (2.5 m/s);Max Outlet Water Flow 790 GPM
  • X20‑P10:Rated Output Power 300 W;Max Outlet Water Speed 6.6 ft/s (2.0 m/s);Max Outlet Water Flow 660 GPM

Every Swim Jet X Series package ships with all core components required for immediate setup and operation. It contains one Jet underwater main unit, a model‑matched power box lithium‑ion battery unit, the official charging adapter, and a safety tether to secure the jet to pool fixtures. Printed quick‑start guide and user manual are also provided inside the box. No extra hardware is required for basic installation.

The Swim Jet X Series provides 4 standard steady‑flow gears (P1‑P4) across all models. Only the top‑of‑range X35‑P60 adds two extra special modes: PE Turbo gear, a short‑duration maximum‑power burst mode, and PF AI Surfing gear, which delivers automatically cycling variable water flow. Other models only support P1‑P4 steady speed settings. All gears can be adjusted via the power‑box buttons or the iGarden mobile App.

Across all Swim Jet X Series models, the underwater jet unit is IP68 rated for full submersion. The power box is IP65 rated for pool‑side outdoor use and must never be submerged.

The Swim Jet X Series jet unit weighs 30.9 lb, with nominal overall dimensions of 33.15 × 16.69 × 14.29 inches. Power‑box (battery unit) weights vary by model: P60 is 25.6 lb, P30 is 14.1 lb, and P15 / P10 are 8.8 lb. If shipping or carton dimensions are required, please check region‑specific packaging data separately.

Yes. The iGarden App lets users add devices, set‑up workouts, operate the unit remotely, view workout history and share device access. 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi is required for initial device pairing. App control does not replace mandatory on‑site safety checks before every use; physical buttons on the power box are still available as an alternative.

No. The Swim Jet X Series runs entirely from its built‑in lithium‑ion power box during operation. The included AC adapter is only for charging the battery unit; you cannot power the jet directly by plugging into household AC outlets. Do not operate the unit while charging, per official manual requirements.

On the P60 power box, the display area shows gear, Wi-Fi connection, battery level, and timer information. Each LED bar represents 25% battery capacity; when the battery is at least 98%, all bars are on, and at 0% the first LED flashes to remind you to charge. The P60 display is not available on P30, P15, or P10 power boxes.

Swimming & Performance

How it cleans and which pools it supports.

The Swim Jet X attaches to the pool edge and produces a steady, adjustable counter‑current. By swimming against this continuous stream, swimmers do not need to turn at pool ends. At P4 gear on the X35‑P60 model, the comfortable swimming zone starts more than 1.5 meters away from the outlet. Adjustable flow can be matched to a swimmer’s pace, turning an existing pool into a compact endless swim space. Optimal experience can be tuned by adjusting the model, speed setting and outlet position for the pool and swimming style.

These pace references are theoretical flow benchmarks measured 1.5 meters from the outlet, expressed as seconds per 100 yards for each gear. At P4, the reference paces are 75s for X35, 90s for X30, 100s for X25 and 110s for X20. They help swimmers quickly pick a gear that aligns with their target swimming rhythm. Individual experience will vary slightly with pool layout and installation.

The X35‑P60 includes four steady flow gears P1‑P4 for consistent endurance and interval training. It also has two exclusive special modes: PE Turbo gear delivers 5 minutes of short maximum‑power bursts for sprint drills, while PF AI Surfing gear generates dynamically shifting current to challenge swimmers’ stability and adaptability. All modes can be adjusted via the power box buttons or the iGarden App to create varied high‑intensity swim workouts.

Yes, beginners can use the Swim Jet X. Multiple models and four steady flow gears P1‑P4 offer flexible options to match different skill levels. Swimmers can start with low‑current settings and entry‑friendly models, then move to stronger flows as their technique and endurance improve. All adjustments can be made via the power box buttons or the iGarden App.

Yes. The adjustable counter‑current supports freestyle, breaststroke and other common swim strokes. Swimmers can select from P1‑P4 flow gears to match the suitable current strength for each stroke’s rhythm and pace.

Outlet height shapes the current performance. For swim training, position the top edge of the outlet 2–4 inches below the water surface for smooth, steady flow. For casual play, it can sit 0–2 inches above the water. Do not set it more than 2 inches above the water, as this may hurt performance.

Yes. The available compatibility guidance identifies pool length to the far wall, water depth, wall geometry, coping overhang, and freeboard as conditions to check. The manual also identifies recommended, optional, and not-recommended installation locations. If a pool has an unusual wall, ledge, coping, or shallow section, submit measurements and clear photos for technical review before purchase.

No. While the adjustable flow gears and multiple model options accommodate a wide range of users, experience will differ. Swimmers of varying sizes, strength and ability will feel the current differently. Users can tune the model and speed setting to find a comfortable match for themselves.

Outlet height changes how the water enters the pool. For swim training, the manual specifies placing the top edge 2–4 in below the water surface for a smoother, more stable flow. Raising it to 0–2 in above the water surface is intended for recreational splashing, not as a higher-performance swim setting. Recheck the locking pins and test the height in water after adjustment.

Swim Jet X cannot directly measure swim distance, lap count or calories burned. The iGarden App records session duration and selected flow setting, and provides estimated training references based on the flow level for your workout log.

Compatibility & Installation

Help choosing the right model for you.

The suggested minimum pool size is 6.56 × 13.12 ft (2 × 4 m). The distance from the installation spot to the opposite pool wall should be over 4 m (13 ft), reserving enough stable swimming zone starting 1.5 m from the outlet. Standard rectangular pools meeting these dimensions work well. For smaller or irregular pools, share dimensions and photos with us for a quick pre‑purchase review.

The vertical water depth from water surface to pool floor needs to be over 76.5 cm (30.12 inches). Coping overhang must be less than 10 cm (4 inches), and the vertical gap from the top of the coping down to the water line should be under 40.6 cm (16 inches). Refer these figures together with the installation diagram. For final installation decisions, technical confirmation is recommended.

Swim Jet X fits most in-ground and above-ground pools, including framed above-ground, concrete/vinyl-lined and freeform pools. Inflatable pools are not recommended, as soft walls cannot hold the unit securely; water thrust may cause shifting and affect safety and flow stability. Vertical, straight walls work best. The pool should meet core specs: minimum 2m × 4m, over 4m from the mount to the far wall, water depth over 76.5 cm, and compatible coping dimensions. For pools with many steps or unique construction, submit photos and measurements for pre-purchase evaluation.

Swim Jet X requires no permanent installation, drilling or pool modification. It clamps onto the pool coping for quick setup and easy removal for storage. It works when coping overhang is less than 10 cm and the distance from coping top to water is under 40.6 cm.

  • Confirm pool depth and coping dimensions meet clamping requirements;
  • Place the jet unit and power pack on flat, dry poolside ground;
  • Lower the jet unit slowly along the pool wall, keep connectors away from water;
  • Adjust the outlet height, recommended 2–4 inches below the water surface;
  • Connect the cable to the discharge port on the power pack;
  • Secure the safety tether to a solid anchor point;
  • Power on after verifying all connections.

Important: Always connect the jet unit to the power pack first before powering up.

Place the power pack on a flat, dry poolside area free of standing water and splashes. Never submerge or expose it to rain or wet conditions. Do not move the power pack while the motor is running, as movement triggers the gyro displacement protection and shuts the unit down automatically.

Certified professional installation is not mandatory for Swim Jet X. Featuring a clamp‑on portable design, the unit is intended for self‑setup. Users may complete mounting, connection and commissioning independently following the official manual. For pools with non‑standard coping or unique structures, submit pool details for technical pre‑review to mitigate installation and operational risks.

Please provide an overview photo of your pool, a close-up of your planned installation spot, along with these key measurements: water depth at the mounting position, distance from the mounting point to the opposite pool wall, coping overhang, and the height from the top of the coping to the water surface. If your pool has special features such as steps, benches or irregular walls, mark their dimensions to assist our technical team with the assessment.

The Swim Jet X is not restricted to the deep end only. It can be installed at any pool wall where the water depth exceeds 76.5 cm (30.12 inches), the outlet is set 2–4 inches below the water surface, and the distance from the mounting spot to the opposite pool wall is over 4 m. The deep end is the preferred location for a smoother flow experience.

The locking pins secure the handle after you adjust the jet outlet height. The manual instructs you to press the knob inward, rotate it from vertical to horizontal, pull it out, reposition the handle, then reinsert and rotate the knob back to vertical. If a pin will not release or lock securely, do not use pliers, substitute hardware, or modify the mount; stop and contact official support.

The safety tether is required during use to secure the jet to a fixed anchor point and prevent it from falling off the pool wall. The manual says it should not be under tension during normal operation; it functions as a safety restraint, not as the primary load-bearing support. Use a fixed anchor that has passed the pool-specific technical review.

No custom brackets or pool modifications are required. The factory clamp is designed for compliant coping. Homemade mounts, drilling or structural alterations void warranty and create hazards from slipping or falling.

Comparisons & Buying Guide

Charging, runtime, and smart features.

X35-P60, X30-P30 and X20-P10 share the same jet unit, P1–P4 flow settings and App control. Specs from the official manual and recommended use cases:

With balanced, reliable performance, it is ideal for daily fitness and family swim training for users who do not require PE/PF specialized modes and whose pools meet compatibility requirements.

The X25-P15 delivers 300W output with P1–P4 flow settings and a 15Ah / 378Wh power pack, offering up to 2.5 hours of runtime on P1. It provides gentle water flow with great value, perfect for new swimmers, casual swimming and light workouts for users whose pools meet compatibility requirements.

Swim Jet X Series and Swim Jet P Series are both iGarden intelligent counter-current swim systems. They create steady opposing water flow with adjustable speed settings for stationary swim training.
Key differences:
Swim Jet X Series is a clamp‑on, battery‑powered portable unit. It requires no drilling or permanent pool modification and can be removed and relocated easily. It delivers focused linear flow, works for pools starting at 2 m × 4 m, and has limited runtime. The X35‑P60 includes exclusive PE/PF training modes, ideal for renters, above‑ground pools and users prioritizing flexible setup.
Swim Jet P Series is a deck‑mounted, AC‑powered fixed system with unlimited runtime. It produces wide fan‑shaped flow with finely calibrated speeds, designed for permanent installation in in‑ground pools, best suited for frequent long training sessions and swimmers who prefer a broad swimming lane current.

Swim Jet X is a clamp-on, battery-powered portable countercurrent swim system. Comparable alternatives are split into portable add-on units and traditional fixed countercurrent systems. Slipstream is its direct portable competitor. Major fixed countercurrent brands include Badu (Speck), Endless Pools, SwimEx and AstralPool. Slipstream also features drill-free coping mounting. Badu, SwimEx and AstralPool mostly offer AC-powered deck-mounted systems, while Endless Pools specializes in integrated pool packages. These products vary in power supply, flow pattern, installation requirements and price range.

Swim Jet X is a clamp-on, battery-powered portable countercurrent swim system. The main differences from alternative swim current products lie in installation, power supply, compatible pool types and flexibility.
Its portable battery-powered counterpart is Slipstream. Neither requires pool construction and both work with above-ground and in-ground pools. Slipstream uses a drop-in design while Swim Jet X mounts to the pool coping with a clamp. Swim Jet X offers a wider range of power levels, and the X35-P60 adds exclusive PE/PF training modes, App control and on-panel timer functions.
Deck-mounted systems such as Badu (Speck) and AstralPool run on AC power with unlimited runtime. They require deck drilling and professional electrical/plumbing work, are built for permanent installation on in-ground pools, and suit frequent extended training.
Endless Pools and SwimEx are mostly integrated pool units or paddlewheel wide-current systems with broad, smooth flow, yet they require major construction and carry a much higher total investment.
Swim Jet X stands out for fast setup, easy removal and relocation, compatibility with pools starting at 2 m × 4 m, and lower entry cost. Its limitation is session runtime bound by battery capacity. Your final choice depends on your pool condition, whether permanent modification is allowed, training frequency and budget.

Both Swim Jet X and Slipstream are battery-powered portable countercurrent units with no construction required. Neither is universally better.
Swim Jet X uses a coping clamp mount and fits pools starting at 2 m × 4 m. It comes in multiple power variants (X20/X25/X30/X35) with wide flow options. The X35 adds exclusive PE/PF training modes, on-panel timer and iGarden App control. Its adjustable outlet height makes it suitable for beginners, family use and advanced training.
Slipstream is a drop-in submerged unit. It creates wide, gentle flow and is designed mainly for long endurance sets.

Before purchasing Swim Jet X, verify your pool meets baseline requirements: minimum 2 m × 4 m footprint, water depth over 76.5 cm, and more than 4 m from the mounting spot to the opposite wall. Coping specs must fit: overhang less than 10 cm, and the gap from coping top to waterline under 40.6 cm. Inflatable pools are not recommended. Submit photos and measurements for compatibility review if your pool has steps or irregular shapes. Also select a model aligned with your training goals, flow power and runtime needs.

If you are concerned about flow intensity, select your model based on published specs instead of general descriptions of “strong” or “weak”. Reference data: X35 at 1,000W with max outlet speed 11.5 ft/s; X30 at 700W, 9.8 ft/s; X25 at 400W, 8.2 ft/s; X20 at 300W, 6.6 ft/s. Every model features adjustable P1–P4 flow settings, and higher-power units can run on low settings for beginner adaptation.
X20: Gentle flow, ideal for new swimmers, casual swimming and light workouts
X25: Moderate thrust, great for daily fitness and relaxed family training
X30: Balanced and steady, suited for regular consistent swim training
X35: Powerful flow, built for advanced swimmers and triathletes for high-intensity training
Confirm your pool meets compatibility requirements before choosing.

Operation & Safety

First-time setup and ongoing maintenance.

Before each use, verify that the environment meets the manual, the power box is not charging, the jet is secured with the tether, there is no standing water around the power box, the inlet area is clear, the jet is securely mounted, and the jet is fully submerged. Do not sit on or weigh down the jet.

No. The manual says the jet must be fully submerged to avoid motor damage and warns that powering it on outside water will void the warranty. Place and secure the jet, connect it to the power box, and only then power on according to the documented sequence.

Power on: Securely connect the jet unit to the power pack cable first. Confirm the power pack is on dry ground and the safety tether is firmly anchored. Wake the system by pressing the side power button on the power pack, then press the top run button to start the flow, or launch it via the iGarden App.
Power off: Stop the unit using the top panel button or App. Disconnect the cable between the jet unit and power pack only after the water flow has fully stopped. Do not disconnect the cable while the unit is running.

No. Do not charge while the product is in use or within 11.48 ft (3.5 m) of the pool. Charge only with the supplied charger in a cool, dry, ventilated location. Stop charging immediately if you observe leakage, overheating, smoke, odor, or sparks.

After use, power down the unit, disconnect the cables, and rinse the jet housing, outlet and clamp with fresh water to remove chlorine and debris. Avoid chemical cleaners and high‑pressure washing. Allow it to air dry fully in a cool, ventilated spot before storage.

Store the jet and power box between 32–113°F in a cool, dry, ventilated place away from direct sun, with the jet laid flat. For long-term storage, charge the battery to about 60%, then every three months discharge it to 30% and recharge it to 60%. Keep the product away from children and pets.

For the P60 power box, E0 indicates a motor fault and B0 indicates a battery fault. Restart the jet first. If either code persists, contact after-sales support. Do not open the power box or attempt internal battery or motor repairs yourself.

Automatic shutdown can occur if the power box is moved while the motor is running, because the internal gyroscope detects displacement. Low battery, abnormal temperature, or battery protection can also stop operation. Place the power box still on a dry flat deck, check battery level and temperature, restart only when conditions are normal, and contact support if the issue persists.

Check the three connection points of the charger: charger to wall outlet, charger to power pack port, and cable connector. Confirm the power pack can wake up and check the charging indicator light. Do not run the jet unit while charging. If the issue persists after these checks, contact support and avoid replacing parts without proper diagnosis.

The unit only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi; 5 GHz networks are incompatible.
For P10 / P30 power packs: After powering on, press and hold Speed + Power together for 2 seconds then release. The light bar flashes green to indicate pairing mode.
For P60 power pack: After powering on, press and hold Speed + Timer together for 2 seconds then release. The Wi-Fi icon on the screen flashes to indicate pairing mode.
Verify the Wi-Fi name and password in the App. If you are unsure of the Wi-Fi band, test with a 2.4GHz mobile hotspot (mobile data must be enabled). Do not perform pairing while charging. Contact support if the issue continues; do not swap parts without diagnosis.

Not recommended users: Children without independent swimming ability, unsupervised minors; people with heart disease, high blood pressure, vertigo, epilepsy, recent surgery or mobility impairments. Do not use while intoxicated or taking medication that impairs judgement.
Inlet safety rules: Keep hands, limbs, long hair and clothing away from the inlet while running. Never remove the inlet guard grille. Stop use immediately and replace the grille if it is damaged.

The iGarden App is optional. The power pack has physical buttons to wake, start, stop and change flow levels. The App adds Wi‑Fi setup, timers, session logs and remote control; the unit works normally without it.

Firmware updates are recommended via the iGarden App on a stable 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network to improve stability, safety logic and features. Do not cut power or lose Wi‑Fi mid‑update. Updates are not mandatory immediately, but periodic updates are advised.

Long‑term submersion between sessions is not recommended. Though the jet is waterproof, prolonged exposure to chlorinated water and UV rays accelerates seal wear, scaling and corrosion. Rinse, dry and store it indoors after use for longer service life. It may stay mounted for multiple sessions on the same day.

Power off immediately and disconnect the cable between jet and power pack. Do not restart repeatedly. Inspect the inlet grille for hair, leaves or debris blocking the impeller. Clear obstructions and confirm the impeller spins freely. If noise or binding persists, stop use and contact support; do not disassemble the motor yourself.

The P60 screen brightness is fixed and cannot be manually adjusted. Use shading outdoors to improve readability under strong sunlight.

First confirm the startup order: the side power switch must be engaged, then press the top power button; ensure the jet is connected before powering on and fully submerged for operation. If the power box still does not start, follow the official charging and fault checks, then contact support. Do not diagnose a battery as “bricked” from app percentage alone.
